a problem with alpha 8

So it didn't take long for the issues to arrise from alphtha 8. The biggest being the war factory upgrade messup (oops) for aw and seed. I will take a good hard look at the code today and re-release an alpha 8b on Sunday to a few different locations for people.

ha well i'm guessin that's why i couldn't get everything for both of them. i finally figured out how to upgrade everything for the Pegasus side. My only problem is, it takes WAY too long to get access to EVERY unit. there a way to unlock the units quicker?

If you are playing UC then yes, it does take a while to unlock everything. What we are trying to do is set the unlock speeds so that when player A of say SEED is getting Freedom Gundam and Justice then player B of UC is getting GP01, GP02, and possibly GP03.

The idea is that with UC you don't have to tech up to win, and in some instances you won't tech all the way through, but if you want to you can. At least that's our current design. We're talking about speeding the process up a bit (going from teirs 3 to 4 or 5 at the moment takes less time than it does to go from teir 1 to teir 2) but we want to do it in a way that you still need to develop certain units to their full potential to upgrade to the next teir.

So for example we are thinking of doing it so you don't have to build the Proto Guntank or Proto Guncannon to go to teir 2, but you do need to build the RX78 and fully upgrade it (minus the weapons, weapon upgrades are never going to be a requirement for teir upgrading) to get to the next level.

However if you just push past that and do not ever develop say the guntank at teir 1 then when you get to teir 4 the guntank mk 2 will not be useable and you won't be able to go back and redevelop the technology. It will be too late for that. So everything will require a bit of decission on the playerse part. Push on as quick as possible to teir 3 to get GP03 or instead hold of a bit and get that Guncannon built and developed.

Yea it makes sense. I just like goin through mods and see what new stuff they offer and I saw it took a while that's all. You did say earlier on another comment that you were fixin the other two sides right? Cause I can't upgrade everything all the way cause some things got mixed up I'm guessing that were unintended

why don't you make C.E, U.C, AW can be played at once( no restriction era)? for ex: if you want UC you must buy U.C tech tree and other eras like C.E and A.W will not locked and if U.C era fully upgraded you can buy another eras tech tree again and make another war factory once again the apply it. I Hope you apply this in your next release.

in 0.7 alpha those strike daggers could not be repaired and gundams cant gain experience, right? could u make so all the units can be repaired and gain experience? or the 8 alpha already has that? please answer if possible..

I always defeated by hard A.I scrin because their mother ship is too strong so can you adding some strong mass-product battleship and produced in airfield? (salamis, albion, clop, ra-calium etc)

Alpha 8 does not have experience in it, alpha 9 will have that. As for the daggers not being repaired I will be fixing that today.

I know about the scrin being overpowering and will also be working on them today.

Finally we will not be letting a player have access to all 3 sides at once. The idea is based around choice. I mean if we let players make all 3 timelines then there would be no disadvantage and we mise well set it up so you can have gdi nod and scrin be the same aRmy as well.

will there be Zeon in this alpha? or Zeon wont appear in this mod at all?
Cause im really looking forward to Zakus and Zeon tech..

Can you make GDI and Nod Stronger too like adding Titan, Mammoth MKII, assault walker robot ( i dunno the name its like AT-TE in Star Wars) also make a new EF main base model because it look tiny and weird...

Zeon will most definatly be added in at some point to the mod, personally I like Zeon more than the EF, but last time we tried to do this we started with Zeon and, without much planning, it didn't turn out too well.

As for adding things to GDI and NOD, again we tried that last time and ended up just working on GDI and NOD (who are already in the game) instead of working on the point of the game, which is adding the EF, ZEON, Robotech, and a suprize side to the game.

Keep up the good work guys! one thing regarding gundams ,daggers and other robots. the aniamtions of the walking is kinda strange, maybe it would look less awkward if the would walk like the NOD giant robot(forgot the name) lol..or something similar cause it looks like the legs are moving in the air and they move too fast for that animation. also if its possible to remove the "sphere" looking shield around gundams cause well it kinda ruins the looks of the model..when u see a soap bubble and something inside of it that supposed to be a gundam..can barely see the model itself because of that..as for the EF tank, when it fires the turret turns to one side only and the tank to the toher tahts a bit weird..just pointed out a few glitches that i think should be fixed..)) cant wait for ur work, cheers!

As for the animation of the Gundams walking, well, that's my fault. I'm not very good at modeling and animating, but I'm doing what I can with what I have. You can't just take the animation of another model and put it on and expect it to work though, it doesn't work that way. So we have to live with what we got I guess.

As for the "Soap Bubble" your talking about, it's only a temporary thing for the game to show that the model your talking about has Phase Shift Armor active. We will be changing that later when we can figure out a better way of doing Phase Shift without having what happens to Justice Gundam happen when the armor is on (when it's armor is on and the model moves it's sword's polygons break down a bit making it look weird). So we're still trying and working with different things.

I have not noticed that issue with the basic tank model, but I will look into it later and see whats up with it.
